Assignment: Tosca desperately begs Rome's chief of police to spare her lover, offering her affections in exchange for his life. She stabs the chief during the act of love, and hurries off to be with her lover—only to find that she was tricked.
Approach: Tosca appears in her full move of stubbing, yet only the viewer knows what's going to happen. Her nakedness represents her torn dignity. The slashed letters suggest the act of murder
